Some Fun Activities

HOMECOMING
Amy and I at the pep assembly for the Homecoming. We were heading to the gym and ran into her so one of her friends took a picture for us. Ain't we cute! All of the staff got a special T-shirt to wear today. It looked pretty neat with all the blue wave going on in the school today!

Some of our Jr. cheerleaders got to show their stuff for the rest of the elementary.

We are getting in shape!

Don and I go the Y to use the exercise equipment to get our youthful figures back! We didn't get too many pictures today, but will try to add some more later.

Here are some of the machines that we use on a regular basis.

Push it Don!

More pictures to come later.

Fall Festival in Tecumseh

Happy Halloween! We went to the Appleumpkin Festival in Tecumseh today and we found some interesting characters! These are some of the scarecrows that were made and put on display. This was the only group that we found today. But my favorite only has a participant ribbon, so the others must have been terrific!

This is Amy and a pumpkin mermaid, they were all life size figures.

And then there was the Snow Witch and the 7 ghosts!

My favorite, it was done in a lot of detail, and the all American apple pie looked good enough to eat!

I had to check it out and see if it was real pie dough on the pie he was holding, it wasn't but it could have been!
A new friend! It's Recycle Man! He was made of recycled objects.
And some old friends, we ran into Penny and Vince at the festival too.

We ejoyed walking around, but I had no kids with me to get some action shots. Maybe next time.

A Long Day!

SHH!!
It was a long day at school for Little Jackson! He wanted a hotdog to eat and got a few bites off of it, then he fell asleep leaning on the couch. I couldn't get the camera quick enough to catch him on his knees at the couch, but he never lost the hotdog when he went down to the floor and he didn't wake up either!

Some more Field Trip Pics

A couple of the pictures from our field trip with the 3rd graders.
Here is a picture of a log with mushrooms and some shelfmushrooms on the end of it.

Field Trip to Stubnitz

Here we are in the Stubnitz Class Room on our field trip. Two classes went today, yesterday I forgot to take the camera with me. Yes, I was lucky to get to go for two days in a row! With different kids, so it was a different experience on both days. They do seem to enjoy all of it and they get to see things that a lot have never seen before. It's fun to watch their reaction to some of the critters that we see. Mrs. Bunch is explaining to the kids what they will be doing for the day.

This is one of the outside games that they played called "Oh, deer!" Learning about the effect of supply and demand on the habitats of the wildlife in Michigan.
This is one of the residents of the classroom, a salamander. Quite a bit bigger than the ones you usually see.
Here the students are checking out the dead logs for bugs and critters that live under them. Lots of things are found, snails, slugs, spiders, centipedes, milipedes just to name a few that we were lucky enough to see this day.
At the end of the day, we were all on a trail hike and checking out the environment of the critters we were just learning about. We were lucky on both days (the rain held off for us!). It's a great outdoor experience for everyone. Many of the kids don't get to experience things like this so it's a great day for everyone.
